I have two purebred Shih Tzu, a male & female...they were couples...when they had their 1st litter, there were three boys and a girl. Unfortunately, the female puppy died two days after birth. Of the three remaining males, two of them looked like normal Shih Tzu dogs, but the youngest was different. He seemed to be a prapso Shih Tzu.
I kept the youngest and sold the other 2. After a year I had the female Shih Tzu mated by the Prapso, but there was only one puppy, a female. She too looked Prapso.
My niece got the baby. What I observed with them were that the prapso puppies were more energetic and hyper.
No need to bring them to the pet shop for grooming even though they have thick hair. The coat does not have knots, mats or tangles.
No need to blow dry after the shower, less maintenance compare to standard Shih Tzu
